Meet Your Teacher:
Josh Nakazawa

Joshua Nakazawa earned degrees from Manhattan School of Music, Southern Methodist University, and The Royal Conservatory. For over 10 years, he’s been a tenured member of the Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra, and for more than 20 years, he’s shared his passion with students of all ages.

Josh’s teaching draws from a rich lineage of cello masters—Rostropovich, Orlando Cole, Janos Starker, Andres Díaz, Colin Carr, and more. He combines this deep heritage with proven methods (Suzuki, Grant, Schroeder, Popper) to build a holistic system that supports every part of your growth—technique, musicality, consistency —in a clear, daily sequence.

After helping hundreds of beginners go from zero to playing the Bach Prelude (Suite No. 1) in under six months in live settings, Josh brought his system online. Now, for less than the price of your daily latte (≈ $1.50 per lesson), you can access daily, world‑class cello coaching—from a symphony professional with a track record of results.
